Dear Friends,
It has been an honor to serve you on Plano City Council Place 3. After careful thought and recognizing that there is still considerable work to be done for our city, I am eager to continue my service and am running for re-election in May 2011.
During my time on council, working with my colleagues, we have:
- generated over 5000 jobs and added over two million square feet of commercial real estate to the city's tax rolls
- partnered with schools, churches and businesses to revitalize one of Plano's aging neighborhoods
- been named the "Safest City in the United States" with a population over 250,000 by Forbes Magazine
I look forward to the next three years further developing these intiatives. My primary focus will be to:
- make core services and public safety a priority
- advance a well-defined economic development strategy that includes redevelopment of vacant and aging commercial properties
- expand the "Love Where You Live" initiative to renovate older neighborhoods and foster a sense of community
